Mommy and Drake in the tub

When my daughter Gracie was three I let her start using my digital camera to take photos, she has loved photography ever since. I think she will enjoy her talent later because now her Mom exists in our family photo albums! I love this picture she took of my son and I full of bubbles in the tub. I was a little worried about what I would see when I looked at her photos being we were in the tub but ended up being pleasantly surprised at her framing technique! Art is a huge part of my life and I think it is so important to let kids experiment and learn from art, it transfers into so many other areas of life and look at the memories I have captured for ever by her.

Gracie in pink Grace loves when she gets to go get her picture taken and get new ideas of how a photographer works. When we get home she lines up her Barbie’s and little figurines mimicking the photographer and takes pictures of them, it’s a hoot to watch! The above photo is Gracie at 4 years taken by Kiki Koralesky of Little Feet Photography http://www.littlefeetphoto.com/.

Drake the duck

I love dressing up for Halloween, it’s always been one of my favorite holidays! This is my son Drake, he is in love with ducks (actually anything outside) so I made him this fun fuzzy warm Mallard costume, he has loved waddling around in it and shaking his tail feathers. I added squeaky shoes from Wiggles N Giggles for sound effects when I took him trick or treating through my Grandpa’s nursing home, he put a smile on everyone’s face! Have a safe and happy Halloween, happy Trick or Treating!

A room fit for a princess!

A pink floral swaged canopy sets the stage for this stately room; a mother’s childhood dream is now reality for her 5 year old little girl! The bedroom was created around the theme of tiny garden fairies and butterflies dancing amongst wild flowers. I created the bedding with a combination of ready made bedding and custom made from my workroom. I love the layered chiffon ruffle Euro shams and bed skirt. My favorite piece in the room is the custom designed butterfly chandelier; it’s made of hand painted porcelain butterflies and daggling crystals and is custom colored for this space. I also had matching bedside table lamps made to match. At the foot of the bed I placed a bench that’s great for getting dressed and is a fabulous art piece, it’s adorned with mosaic tiles and hand painting.

a playroom fit for a princess

The adjoining playroom dove under the sea with a mural of mother and daughter as mermaids. I had so much fun with the window treatment in this space. The valance is designed with layered asymmetrical triangles of blue silk adorned with spiral cut ruffles of multi colored iridescent chiffon inspired by seaweed, sequins and Swarovski crystals add sparkle like glistening water, it’s magical! I created a small seating area of two child size chairs, a sofa and ottoman, the little girl who lives here loves to have parties with her dolls and stuffed animals on them. To keep the space neat and tidy I had a custom cabinet built to fit the entire wall it’s hand painted and adorned with mosaic tiles and has ample storage space for toys and doll dresses. I love cupboards, bookcases and toy boxes I think it’s important to give children the tools to keep things tidy at a young age that way being neat is second nature!

A bathroom fir for a princess

For the adjoining bathroom I continued the theme of the bedroom and duplicated the valance design. The focal point of this space is an incredible freeform shaped mosaic mirror that coordinates with the end of the bed bench and cupboard in the playroom. Whenever you have a series of spaces such as theses adding a few coordinating pieces to each space creates visual unity.

I plan to keep adding more designs if you’re curious to see more now you can visit my design portfolio at Wiggles n Giggles by clicking here: http://www.wigglesngiggles.com/portfolio/gallery/4-The_fairiest_spaces.html
